An irregular heartbeat typically causes measurement problems for a digital blood pressure monitors, resulting in an error message. However, most A&D dlood pressure monitors have an Irregular Heartbeat Feature which allows those who have an irregular heartbeat to obtain reliable readings with a digital monitor and will alert the user of the presence of an irregular heart beat during the reading.
